Tottenham Hotspurs has a chance to go fourth in the table when they take on Southampton at Wembley Stadium in London this Boxing Day afternoon kickoff at around 12:30 uk time. Spurs are currently sitting fifth in the table just 1 point behind fourth place Liverpool and win against the Saints will take them to fourth place and just two points behind Chelsea in third place.

39′ 2 – 0 Harry Kane

Harry Kane scored a stunning hattrick against Burnley couple of days ago and he will spearhead the Spurs attack. Spurs have only lost one of the opening 9 games at Wembley and although its not a bad record, its not enough to keep them in top four on current form. They need to consistently beat teams, specially the ones in bottom half of the table. Southampton on the other hand poor away from home, winning just 1 of the opening 8 away games so far. They are 13th in the table with 19 points and since they are playing two back to back away games against the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United over the festive period they might find themselves fiddling with relegation zone come the new years.

Mauricio Pochettino must be thinking to rotate some of the players who defeated Burnley just 48 hours ago, However Kane should start upfront but we might see Dele Alli on the bench. Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama will still be missing from the squad nursing their respective injuries. While Southampton are also struggling with injuries specially at the full back positions with Cedric Soares and Ryan Bertrand doubtful going into this game.

Match Predictions: Its a game where Spurs will be favourites but as it has been the case over the years, festive games can be very unpredictable and I see another top 6 scalp here. Southampton will setup to frustrate Tottenham at the Wembley and if they can contain them for longer periods they might catch them on the break. I am going with a 1-1 draw with Southampton to score first.
